The Promise Of Paradise.
- For those who do Jesus’ commandments
12 (Look! I am coming soon,
and my reward is with me to pay each one according to what he has done!
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the first and the last,
the beginning and the end!)
14 Blessed are those who wash their robes so they can have access to the tree of life and can enter into the city by the gates.
15 Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the sexually immoral, and the murderers, and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood!
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star!”
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say: “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge.
- Why call Him “Lord”?
46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do what I tell you?
15 “If you love me, you will obey my commandments.
21 The person who has my commandments and obeys them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him.”
22 “Lord,” Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “what has happened that you are going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?”
23 Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and take up residence with him.
- Which commandments?
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven—only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.
22 On that day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons and do many powerful deeds?’
23 Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Go away from me, you lawbreakers!’
8 Then Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned.
- For those who overcome
7 The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers, I will permit him to eat from the tree of life that is in the paradise of God.’
10 Do not be afraid of the things you are about to suffer. The devil is about to have some of you thrown into prison so you may be tested, and you will experience suffering for ten days. Remain faithful even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown that is life itself.
- Paradise will become the home of the righteous dead, for those who die in the Lord!
“Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord”
13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this:
‘Blessed are the dead,
those who die in the Lord from this moment on!’”
“Yes,” says the Spirit, “so they can rest from their hard work, because their deeds will follow them.”
“The Lord will shepherd and lead them to living fountains of waters.”
17 because the Lamb in the middle of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
“You will be with Me in Paradise.”
43 And Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”
